Whenever I’m trolling internet fashions at this time of the year I feel like the poor cousin, left out in the laundry. We’re bombarded with images of “spring fashion”, from the US, the bright new seasons must haves from the UK and smiley faces from the catwalks of Europe..(well… the onlookers, not the models). Then low and behold it starts raining outside and that’s it!!! I’m crawling back into my cave, wake me up when the sun reappears or Prince Charming comes knocking.
In the absence of a fairy godmother or in deed Cate Blanchetts’ wardrobe or stylist, the looming winter season doesn’t necessarily mean a return to drab. In fact because our winter is relatively mild, we really only need a few winter staples and can get away with layering much of the time. So remember lots of scarves, hats, knits and jewels will put winter in its place, until we too return to spring.
